Open Call Deadline for HOME exhibition extended to 16th January

The deadline for the HOME exhibition in the Science Gallery has been extended to the 16th of January.  The gallery is accepting open call proposals until 12:00 on that date.

Hidden Rooms on the 25th and 26th November 2014 was a terrific success and a big thanks to everyone who participated. It was clear from energy levels at Tuesday’s post workshop gathering in Powerscourt and the Wednesday public Plenary in City Hall that every group had enjoyed an intense and productive day.

Congratulations to Dublin City Council’s Engineering Department on the Rosie Hackett Bridge being voted Best Engineering Project of the Year in the Engineers Ireland Awards by the Irish public. The Rosie Hackett Bridge by Dublin City Council, Roughan & O’Donovan, Sean Harrington Architects and Graham Projects Ltd is the newest bridge overlooking Dublin’s riverscape.

This week it was announced that the architectural blog Built Dublin, will be put on ‘indefinite hiatus’.  Described as ‘a love letter to architecture and public space Dublin” the site was started over 26 months ago by freelance architecture researcher and writer Lisa Cassidy.

    Minister for Housing, Jan O’Sullivan recently announced the provision of €68 million in funding for the construction of social housing.  This is the first such government investment in many years and will result in 449 new homes across the state.
